Welcome to Moben.Biz
Thank you for visiting Moben.Biz - A Kitchen from Hell. The main purpose of the web site is to relate my parents experience in the hands of Moben Kitchens and to show some of the pictures of their attempt(s) to fit a kitchen to an acceptable standard. The whole saga lasted for 7 months in 2006 and the kitchen is still not up to the standard that they had expected from such a large company.
You may of read elsewhere on the internet of shocking kitchen installations
and incompetent fitters. Here you will you can see pictures of this installation
mess up. I hope you are
not unlucky enough to be visited by the same fitters send to my parents house. So read
my parents' story with pictures and see what you think.
If you have not yet found any complaints in forums and blogs about kitchen installations please take a look in the complaints section here and you will see that it's not just my parents. I beg you to read them and don't make the same mistakes. You might also like to read some tips on how to avoid the cowboys that are out there.

Planning a Kitchen?
these tips might help you avoid making the wrong choices
or 10 tips to stop you making the same mistakes
- Planning This is the most important stage and time spent here will produce dividends. Things like how long will you be without essential services water gas etc.. what can you do where will all the items in your kitchen be stored while the installation is carried out.
- Research Internet forums and newsgroups are a good source of information regarding specific companies - ask for testimonials from companies you intend to employ and check this also. Although it is reasonably easy for a single person to post several damaging stories on several popular forums about a specific company - it is rare not to find anyone to dispute all these posts. Never be suckered in by flashy TV ads and large Ads in the press - think about it for a momment - Tv and the major press couldn't care less if a company messes up here and there, the company may have paid vast sums to the selected media to target potential customers - The Internet is where the customers get a chance to give there side of the equation . If you still don't believe me google 'The Company Name' and 'complaints'.
- Qualified designer Where possible use a Qualified Kitchen Designer someone who can demonstrate the latest styles and materials and unlike some designers will take the extra time to run through very detail of the design.
- Builders credentials use companies that are part of a building association check the builders credentials his he/she qualified to do what they are going to do; many tasks require qualifications and certifications these days to weed out the cowboys from the legitimate professionals ( unfortunately, it didn't seem to work in my parents case )
- Know what you are paying for Ask for each item to be priced individually so you can see if you getting value for money or are being ripped off. If they won't do that for you, find a company that will. 0H! AND YOU WANT GRANITE WORKTOPS? - read out experience here and see item 2 above. Open your eyes first and then your Wallet in that order.
- Commission based Reps Never use a rep that is paid solely on commission or that commission is a large component of their reward. They will try to sell you as much product as possible. Read this for one way to deal with a Kitchen Salesman
- Signing on the dotted line Never be forced into signing anything take a step back and take the extra time to decide - if the deal is so good it will stand the test of a little extra time. What you think is a great deal today may seem different tomorrow when you have had time to sleep on it.
- What are you buying Know what you are buying - get as many samples as you can if the rep only has one tile for each design or scheme ask to see more. check the quality ask to see a section from one of the panels. Cheap covered chipboard will look awful within a year in a steamy kitchen atmosphere. Avoid any salesman/company with too few samples.
- NEVER NEVER NEVER PAY UP FRONT This is how some companies work and probably why there are so many angry customers including us. Find a company with a flexible payment structure that allows you to keep some of the money back in case things go wrong.
- Last but not least see item 2.
(When i said 10 at the top I meant 9 but 10 is a nice round number )
